Maybe I had missed it but I was surprised to note that anyone
signing up for a Mobile Broadband tariff in PC World can get a
fairly hefty discount on the laptop itself.
Almost makes me want to buy one from there when they next get
updated as the discount on laptop won't be far off the cost of the
broadband bit.
They could be giving away
free-forever-1000Gbps-internet-connection-and-gold-ingots - and I
still wouldn't buy a Mac from them.
When we were interested in buying a Macbook, we found the only local
stockists were John Lewis (out of stock) and PC World. PCW had a few
dirty, scratched display models - not working - and ignorant peasant
sales-oik declined to offer a discount - but said next branch had
some. Went there and they actually had even fewer - and just as
unhelpful. Went to Apple shop 45 miles away. Got one off the shelf
for the same price and it was pretty close to pleasant. Shame about
the petrol...
Ours are quite well stocked with macs. They even have an air, and the
staff are pretty helpful.
Ok, they are still PCWorld, but they do price match and it is easy to
take things back there.
"we dont have a 'change your mind policy'" when i was returning doa netgear
router....
