So what's all that about? Can one expect Flip4Mac to be unable to
handle that encoding? If not, is there any MacOS X way to play such a
file? And if not, do many people give a damn?
Flip4Mac only handles WMV files - Windows Media stuff. Intel Indeo is
one of those codecs that just don't seem to be available on OSX - not
even Perian will play it.
Bit of a bugger.
format that in all probability won't be readable in future.
Yep.
Not
suggesting the video in question is vital to Rowlands pension plan
*Definitely* not. It was one that I cannot recall downloading, but
looking at it, I clearly only did so out of morbid curiosity. At least,
if that wasn't my reason, I'm a bit worried about myself.
but
you get the drift.
All the text documents that I generate are ASCII or Unicode.
If I want formatted text output, I use TeX.
If it's graphics, I use TIFF or PNG or JPEG, depending.
I don't do video.
I'm not going to be caught out by an orphaned file format, not me.
Rowland.
