Well it looks like there are some get_rounds but it does all look a
bit messy / complicated I must admit.
But then I guess you can't have it all ways. Apple stuff generally
works easily because they (generally) make all the hardware, the OS
and much of the software.
PC's are often a collection of disparate components so I guess Windows
(and Linux to a degree) has to be more flexible with what's going on
with it's hardware. It can get upset of course but as you say, at
least it can sort a basic display out to get you going.
