There's even altitude as well.

Impossible, without a link to GPS for calibration; not to mention
useless. What they actually have is barometers - capable of providing
height above sea level information when calibrated, but not otherwise.

But what they do do is tell the machinery what the ambient air pressure
is, and that's dead useful to know regardless of altitude.

I know that, the manufacturers call them 'altitude' sensors.

I didn't know that.

Mine has even got an exterior temp
sensor, interior temp sensor and a sunlight sensor too.

I want a Laverda Jota. It's got points and a coil, I understand. No
chance of it being knocked out by one of those EMP weapons.

Now you're talking. My dream machine would be a Brough Superior.

I'd like lots of old bikes - at least three 1000cc Vincent series C or D
twins. One for concourse, one for daily riding with a few modern
adaptions, and one psycho nutcase heavy custom job. Supercharger.
Nitrous. Modern brakes, wheels, tyres. Modern front end generally,
modern rear shocks, one silencer baffle, and a pudding basin lid for me.
/And/ ear-plugs.

If the Vincent owners club don't like it, I'll just out-run 'em. ;-)

I could do with some Kawasaki two stroke triples. And a few old Triumph
triples with modern carbs and electrics.

Or I could be slower and more sensible at get one of the new
Cranfield-engined diesel bikes - the civvy version will apparently have
a mechanical fuel pump just like the mil spec model, so it'll run
without any electrics at all.

Ideal. I still reckon there's a market for a *very* simple and basic
motor.

Honda makes one. It's in the C90.

Nope. Neither the BMW K100 (some of the later 16v models did) I had, or
the FJ1200, had any kind of temp warning.

Coo. Well, well, well.

And yet they fit them to a computer eh?

But there's no temp warnings and no temp sensor display in the MacOS UI.

Rowland.
