Looks genuine, is it?

It is, I have it (and said about it here).

Innaresting. Junior schools and above only, it seems...

Well, yes, I am over 40 now so they don't seem to want to let me in
below that. In fact they wouldn't even let my daughter in there.

Probably for the best!

My daughter will be starting junior school this autumn, so I shall
postpone my Office 2008 upgrade until then.

Wow. My daughter is doing her tests to be a guard on south west trains!
I guess there is an age gap then. She has just turned 21

About 15 years difference :-)

On the bright side the disk has a nice flashy hologram edge

Shiny. Are these guys selling the home & student version or the normal
commercial one? Logically they'd be selling the former, but the specs
suggest the latter.

The disk says 'February 2008 Applications student media, English
Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac' and round the edge it says Licensed for
use only by students and faculty.
However, the about box just says eg. 'Microsoft Excel 2008 for Mac' and
there is no mention of student anywhere there or in the software, and
there was nothing in the installer about students.

How many serial numbers were there? In the 2004 version I've got there
were 3, so 3 simultaneous installs were permitted.

There was only one number, but I am sure I remembered it saying
something about installing on two machines.
