Well, it must just be us that are lucky then Richard. Trust me, if my

That's because you have some clue, you're an IT Pro. Aren't you.
Well, I have some experience in the field yes, Pro, not sure about
that.
That's
what you keep telling us anyway.
If you say so.
The vast majority of computer users have no clue. They prod and poke
away at keyboards and have no understanding of what is going on. They
don't want to know either. They just want it to work.
Agreed.
What's left will probably end up doing someone a favour .. I wonder if
Eastenders Missus has bought herself anything yet ... <weg>.
It would have come from a good loving home, all setup, no shovelware
and won't need any attention for years! ;-)
Believe that and you can knit fog.
The clue there being 'all setup' Ray.
In the hands of a computer numpty it'll fall over inside a month.
Well, strangely and also much to my surprise (and agreeing with your
next paragraph) that doesn't appear to be the case. I've fielded two
calls tonight from yer 'numpties'. One has a Vaio Laptop and the other
a PC I built him maybe a year ago to replace an eMac he bought from
PCW because 'it looked nice'. He was fed up that no one could help him
(friends / family) and that it didn't work well on the web (booking
flights etc). I built him a basic web surfing box and apart from some
hand holding at the beginning, haven't heard much from him since. At
least the grand kids don't have to lug their PC laptops round as
'Grandad now has a proper computer' (their words not mine).
The call I took from him tonight turned out to be his broadband
playing up (VM, modem synch light flashing). The guy with the Vaio was
fine once I talked him through factory defaulting his Netgear router
and re-configuring.
90% of the worlds computer users are feckin' idiots who shoulldn't be
allowed anywhere near a PC, and I don't deny there are some Mac users in
there too.
I agree Ray. However, much to our dismay they are allowed to and if
there was a real fully integrated affordable solution out there I
would recommend they bought it!
All the best ..
