Is there such a thing as a perpendicular USB adapter? By which I mean something that I can plug into the USB port but then have a port that's pointing lengthways up the laptop rather than sideways into the laptop?
Reason for asking is to reduce the width of the laptop with a USB stick plugged into it. On the train I've got depth but not so much width, would be handy if I could plug in a USB stick and have it point from front to back instead of outwards. I know this would block other ports, but for this particular usage I don't care.
How about just a right angle cable like this:
