Thanks David. But I don't remember ever doing anything like that. In
fact I never, as far as I know, ran that copy of OS9 on a network with
the iG5. There might have been something else with the same address
once, but I don't really think so.

need to delete the contents of the "Servers" folder in your "System
Folder" (failing which the "AppleShare Prep" file in "Preferences").
The 'servers' folder is empty, and the Appleshare prep file, when looked
at in TextWrangler, is empty too.
It would be.
The interesting stuff is in the resource fork.
Delete it.
PS failing which you can always do a custom install of Classic from your
system disks.
I think it may have to come to that. Now to find them- it's been so
long...
