There is also talk of the XP model and the suggestion that when it's
released it will probably kill the Linux versions (I think I read it
will be ~30 quid more for XP).
I think the premium will be much more than that - from what I can
gather, the XP version will be an upgraded machine with a 10"-ish
screen.
Ah .. I know of the 8G models with coloured cases ..
I'm hopefully getting my hands on a black 4GB version fairly soon. But
if I told you my source, I'd have to kill you ;-)
A mate has trade access to Asus stuff but (probably because of the
demand) is having difficulty getting a delivery date out of them.
My need isn't urgent anyway. I would like something to replace the
Libretto 70C for synching the smaller GPS and to have a very portable
browser with a better display than the TX. I would also like to see
how Jenny got on with one as a highly portable MSN / Web / WP machine
and for the MIL, as a solitaire platform (she likes playing it on a
std laptop but they are too heavy for her to even hold / have on her
lap for any length of time (arthritis / emphysema etc). If she likes
it for that then I might even get her on email and MSN (her brain is
still pretty ok). ;-)
My Mum is still getting ok with the PC I knocked up out of bits for
her a while back, eMail, MSN, eBay .. ;-)
All the best ..
