No you're not - I use http://free.grisoft.com (be prepared for the performance hit that comes with any AV software...)
... and conceivably the PC virus might attack any shared folders on your host Mac.
Isn't that a flaw? Surely, a PC-specific malware should /not/ affect a host OS that it isn't designed for.
The guest OS is able to write to files that you allow it to write to, so if you share a folder on the host with it, the guest is able to write files into it.
Does that match what you think the word "attack" means?
I realise Wine is not the same as a VM, but a VM should not allow a client access to the host willy-nilly IMO.
It does not, and I can't see how you came to the conclusion that it did.
