Of that I have no idea. There's nothing in my 'all groups' list with any
mention ofiTunes.

Anybody know?

Not offhand, no. What I would say though is that the OP could check
this:

Go to Control Panel->WindowsFirewall. Assuming it's set to 'On' and
*doesn't* have 'No Exceptions' checked, click on the 'Exceptions' tab at
the top.

You should now get a list of exceptions, ie ports or programs that the
firewall will ignore. IfiTunesisn't listed, click the 'Add program...'
button at the bottom. AddiTunesto the list and try again.

Please note that this won't work if you have a 3rd prty firewall
(Norton, Symantec, AVG etc) installed as they will have their own way of
handling exceptions.

I have Zone Labs on my PC and the windows firewall turned off. I am
getting the same message when I want to download software updates, it
does not download them at all displaying the same error message.

Is there a port for access to Itunes store and updates? I added
itunes.exe in the exceptions for my internet connection but
diagnostics say Firewall Information

Windows Firewall is on.
iTunes is enabled in Windows Firewall.
