Yep, and has thrown quite a few people. "T i m , my laptop was
connecting wirelessly at work but it won't now at home .."
Oh, and I've switched to 'Classic' theme to make things a little less
painful.
;-)
Yes, XP Pro would be the better OS,
Why Pro over Home Steve, do they have a Domain at college she has to
log into (I believe you can get XP Home to join a domain).
No, XP Home won't join a Domain, only the Pro version will.
Not as standard maybe but according to this Graham you can make it do
so ..well of sorts (mind you I've not tried it).

Interesting. The second item about mapping to a domain share is of course
true, but if you want to join a Domain it's probably because you want all
the advantages of central management via Group Policies and the like ...
Neither does
Home allow a Terminal Services client to connect to it, so if you want to
manage it remotely you have to install VNC.
Wouldn't that be preferred anyway?
VNC has its place, but Terminal Services is much faster and is independent
of the screen settings for the local monitor.
