Just for point of reference (and I apologise if you know this already) but
the term 'sock puppet' tends to be used to indicate someone who posts under
more than one identity, in support of themselves. A bit like me posting
something as 'Jim', then replying to my own post using the name 'John' and
saying 'yes Jim, I agree completely!'
