Thanks for that info.

At least it tells me that the difference from PCI to PCI-X is not just
a form-factor change but a functional improvement.
Also, I feel a bit embarrassed now that I realise that the G5 card I
thought was PCI must actually be AGP. For my tired brain it's like
trying to make sense out of alphabet soup!

Double check the model though, I thought the last model G5s (Late 2005)
had PCI-E graphics cards too (Mac Tracker says it does).
