Aye, well that's to be preferred to using Windows I guess.

I spent a good few hours doing battle with Win2k Pro yesterday.

I turned on the wifi card using the IBM config. software. Discovered
that I couldn't get it to do anything useful, so went to turn it off.

I couldn't - I had to go into device manager. Only that didn't work
either - it kept crashing. So, I now had a device that was causing
device manager to crash. That's handy.

Solution - go into the BIOS(!?) and disable the wifi card.

Took me ages and several forced-restarts to fix it.

Don't get me started on setting up an IRDA modem connection. Got there
in the end, but it was a painful experience.
