Slow network backup

It's not a complaint, it's what I'd like.
I'd like a system which constantly backs up files, over a network. I
don't want it to hammer the network, disk or CPU intensively, I want it
to notice every time a file has been changed and then quietly shovel it
over the network to the backup device.
Obviously, the software would have to be very well integrated into the
filing system.
