I see that something calling itself a beta of Eudora 8.0 is now
available as part of the Penelope open source project.

I have fond memories of running Eudora on Windows for a couple of years
so this project is quite interesting to me and I may have to give it a
try sometime. Has anyone tried running this suite?
It looks a lot like Thunderbird with a different (but not native, so
don't think Camino and Firefox) theme.
No, it has got some of eudora.
ok, that was stupid. I backed up the mail, but not the application. I had
to go back to the original eudora website and download the 7 installer.
Luckily it installed over 8 alright and no damage seems to have been done.
but why call it eudora? ok, it has eudoras menus, but it works just like
thunderbird.
