Eudora 8.0 Beta (Penelope)

I see that something calling itself a beta of Eudora 8.0 is now available as part of the Penelope open source project.

I have fond memories of running Eudora on Windows for a couple of years so this project is quite interesting to me and I may have to give it a try sometime. Has anyone tried running this suite?
