Am I correct in assuming that people are generally happy with it?

Yes.

Me too. It's by far the most useful handheld device I've ever had - and
I've been through 3 Palm devices, a Psion a Windows PDA and a Windows
PDA Phone thingie in the past 8 years....

Is it worth getting the slightly more expensive version with the GPS?

You mean the GPS pack one? Possibly if you want GPS as well. I think I
might have gone for that if I realised it would be handy although in the UK
I am happy with the tomtom.

I looked at the GPS pack, if it covered the whole of Europe, I'd buy it,
but it splits North and South. I don't really need North, but South
doesn't include the UK.

How well (if at all) does it talk to Macs?

works fine with cyberduck when I put openSSH on it!
Depends what you meant by 'talks to'. It isn't a PDA.

It reads vCard stuff, and the office applications are MS compatible.

You don't really sync it with your Mac, but it will mount the memory
card as a mass storage device for transferring files around.

Amazon sell it for roughly 130-140 - good price?

I paid £79

Same here. I wouldn't pay £140 for one - but that's because I know they
could be had for £79.

For some, it may still be worth buying at £140, 'cos it's one hell of a
device even for that money.

How good is its wireless pickup?

Fantastically good.

Could it be used as a wireless 'sniffer'
easily enough?

I think there is a bit of software to do that

There is. I haven't bothered with it, though.

I'm incredibly impressed with the wifi pickup, though.
