Cheers, hopefully it's still under warranty, I'm just waiting for a
response from Elgato regarding the fault.
Well good luck on that.
With this screen saver thing in mind I'm further surprised the eyetv
software can't suppress the screen saver. As part of our rf re-wire
I've re-fed the Pinnacle DTV card in my PC here and that has a nice
tick box on the general setup page marked 'Disable screen saver'. So
if some crappy old PC software can do it .. and afaic it's a
fundamental function?
Yup, it should be I guess.
Not just me then. I thought there was going to be a very_good_reason
why one wouldn't want it that way?
Although as I said, you can just turn on the
hot corners and bung the mouse into the corner.
Which is a 'get round' I suppose but I'm not sure how practical it
would be in say my daughters scenario .. mouse getting easily moved on
her small / busy desk etc.
Hence why I thought there must be a very good reason why the feature
wasn't there .. seeing as the eyetv software is so integrated into the
box as such, using the Mac remote, starting on bootup, going full
screen etc (and I don't need to explain to *you* that's not a dig but
a genuine / serious observation).
All the best ..
