Re: Web app development on Mac OS

I'm thinking of developing an app. I'd like it to be a browser based
delivery but java and cocoa are options if I get bogged down in the
whole web thing.

What options are easy to get going for web app development on Mac OS
10.4? I'm guessing perhaps PHP? What about a database backend? I'm an
Oracle DBA by trade but that'd be overkill - even though I have an
Oracle personal license I don't want to leave a VM up and running all
the time just to serve half a dozen tables.

PostgreSQL would be the next best bet as I know that quite well. I don't
know MySQL at all.

So, on an Intel Mac (or PPC - either will do) what's the easiest route
to a web based, database backed, application?

Is there a target audience for this app, or is it just for you?
