Hi, my first posting after many month reading this useful group.
I have a few Macs: a G3 iMac[1], a G3 iBook, a G4 iMac and a G4
PowerBook. I am about to purchase one or two new models, probably an
iBook and a Mini, which are bound to have Intel chips - never before
seen here.
Presumably not an iBook then, as they don't make those any more.
I have a family licence for Panther and I will probably wait until
October to replace this with one for Leopard. Will I be able to use
it (Leopard) with all of the machines? The G3s are both likely to
have gone by then, so G4s and new purchases - all DVD-RW machines - are
the ones that matter most. Are there multiple OS versions on the discs
or will I need different sets of discs for each machine type?
The disks generally cover everything that is supported, although noone
can say what is supported, as it isn't out yet. I would think that the
G4s should be safe.
