There are a LOT of PDF manuals in various languages within the
application package. Some of these are several MB.

By getting rid of some of these I got the size down to 30MB and it still
works.

Yes, I did the same. I'm a bit disappointed that the tool shortcuts have
changed, so Zoom is no longer z, now it's s. Also the tooltips seem a
bit flakey: they take a long time to appear, and aren't related to the
tool under the pointer, but to the tool a couple of panels down.
