That was in relation to tilting the PowerBook.

But now it seems I've damaged the FW interface on her 250G external
drive .. ;-(

I use a firewire bus powered external on my portable and am paranoid about making sure it's set to take no power from firewire when the cable is initially plugged into the computer and drive case. I switch it to firewire power mode after checking both ends of the cable are secure.

The USB seems ok .. and if you boot the Mini with the drive connected
it sees and mounts the two volumes that are on it (thank goodness) but
it doesn't seem to detect it if it's not plugged in at boot up?
