Let me know if you find anything. I know big shiney is a bit old now but
in a recent discussion about it, there is no reason it needs replacing -
it has 500Gb of disk space and we don't do anything processor intensive
on it.
But it is really loud sometimes!

The only problem I have is that the main cpu fan makes a sort of
knocking noise when it's idling at about 56C (according to Temperature
Monitor).

Mine makes a knocking noise too, but I don't know what temperature.


Clearing the dust away from the lower vents made a surprising amount of
difference.

We did that recently when we moved.
