iChatAV - the new low-latency AAC codec sounds good (as an idea, I mean)
but again, only real-world data will confirm or deny it. And as for the
AV effects? Why? Fun for literally *seconds*.
I know plenty of people who find Photo Booth endlessly entertaining.
People over the age of 10?
And why must it be for people over the age of 10? My kids can spend a good half-hour or more in front of it - they love it.
Er, whoosh?
I was suggesting that the only people who find PB endlessly entertaining are under 10.
Not a woosh, I realised that. I'm just putting the counter point that there's no reason why the feature has to be intended for people that are over ten. It might be advertised by some allegededly cool 20 somethings on the Apple web site, but I'll bet it's more aimed at the 14 year-old MySpace crowd (I'm giving them a bit more leeway than ten here, but you get the idea).
The AV effects are not something I'll be using, unless perhaps to set iChat to a plain background instead of a cluttered bookshelf directly behind me, but that's fine - it'll have its niche I'm sure. I know people who played around with the Logitech add-ons for MSN that allowed you to superimpose Groucho-style moustaches etc. - they were kids, but doesn't matter - that's who the feature was aimed at.
Cheers,
Ian
