I have an uncle (in Oz) who used to race Hobie cats (he'd been at sea
all his working life and couldn't quite give it up). He told me the
tale of a race in which he made a minor cockup and the bow dug in,
causing the boat to flip over. The other chap - who had been on the
tiller - headbutted the mast on his way over and whinged a bit (slightly
stunned with blood pouring out of a scalp wound) when my uncle had a
right bloody go at him to stop faffing and help him get the boat upright
again. Sensible of my uncle, mind - the bloke needed treatment, what
with him whining on he was obviously still breathing and all that, and
the fastest way to get to medical attention was by catamaran.
