Well you might get physical closeness with a crowd of people all jammed
on your sofa trying to watch a movie on your 17" iMac screen, but if you
don't get immersed in an experience while some other part of your brain
knows that those other people are immersed in the same experience, then
you won't get that "genuine collective experience".

So whatever it is that's missing, whether it be that it's quite
difficult to get immersed in a 17" screen from twelve feet away, or
whether it be that bit of your brain that empathises with other people
involved in the same experience, it's not surprising you have no idea.

I'm tempted to provide a link to a picture of a testicle in an eggcup,
but I suspect the point would be lost.

Does that mean you have a picture of a testicle in an eggcup, or you
were planning to make one?
And does it come with dippy soldier?
