Almost all 'crap' WD-s will live out their allotted five years.
And anyway, you can always sell it,
especially when it comes sealed as new.
Get yourself a Samsung or Hitachi or non-Chinese-manufactured Seagate
instead.
Infinitely more reliable than Western Digital.
