What is it with you guys and nylon clothes! ;-)
Today, it's dead. Light's on in the transformer or whatever the thingy
is called that hangs between the plug and the laptop and gets warm, but
no electricity gets through.#
Erm, if the laptop 'get's warm' then I guess electricity is getting
through to it.
Anything I can do to rescue it?
Assuming you haven't, try removing the power lead from the laptop and
the battery (however dead) and leave it like that for a few mins. Plug
the power in on it's own (no battery) and see what happens.
Failing any life and assuming it's not a recent / high spec machine
then take the drive out and stick it in a USB caddy and plug it into
summat else (to access your docs etc) and maybe look for the same
model on eBay (as if your drive is still good then it may just run 'as
was' in the replacement as per pre the other machine dying etc).
And you will have a spare screen, keyboard, psu etc ;-)
All the best ..
