I feel your pain. I am afflicted with being able to hear the
compression in everything...and it drives me up the wall. Television
particularly. Channel 4 on Dsat for some reason is particularly bad.
That's a different thing though, that also drives me to distraction.
What you're hearing is audio compression, which is different to file
compression.
