I've googled, but can't find the answer.
But is there any way to throttle the speed of the MacBook CPU, 'cos I've
been using this one all day today (been running, not sleeping at all,
since 9am) - and it's getting rather hot.
I don't mind the heat, but the fan is driving me insane.
At least with the G4s you could cut the CPU speed to keep it cool.
The Intels do that as needed, my MB 2GHz spends most of its time at
1GHz. As you've seen, CHUD gives you the CPU panel back to turn off a
core.
The other thing you want is www.coolbook.se - that'll allow you to
lock the CPU to its lowest speed.
I get about 5h30 out of my MB with 70% screen brightness, and it's
very hard to tell you're working on lower speeds.
