for the Hawkwind fans here. On BBC4 tonight at 21:00
Arrrgh! I can't get BBC4!
Can anyone record this as a QT/.avi thingy? I will officially owe you a
berverage-of-choice!
It was nice to hear the old stuff (in parts), and see how old they all
look (and they do look REALLY old).
But, all it really was, was: We got stoned/high, 1 member of the band
went too far, he was sacked, we got high/stoned, we got a new member,
another member went mad, we got high/stoned etc.
We are now, 25+ years later, not too keen on some other old band members,
i.e. Dave Brock is a capitalist ***, and we are all sane and normal,
though no-one else thinks so.
I think you got the numbers wrong. Now 37 years later, most of us still
like each other, except dave brock who wouldn't appear and took his ball
away because someone else was on the program, probably the guy he sued
for setting up exhawkwind, and he was a capitalist ***.
Nice quote in there, especially lemmys stuff - 'The first time I played
the bass was when we were going on stage, they said who is the bass
player and *** said 'he is'. he was helpful though, he said, 'play
something in E, this is called shouldn't do that'"
and
"the keyboards were really experimental - he was still reading the
manual while he was playing".
