Definitely, yes. And even when you're too lazy for that just logging out
and in again should help in most cases. In any case it is a good test to
learn if it's some user setting or a system problem going on.
I think the major reason to *not* reboot when encountering problems is
to find out *what* went wrong, so you can fix it sooner or later. Doing
this gives that deep warm feeling you get when you've solved a
problem and which is much better than the short relieve you get when you
just make it go away by rebooting without knowing why, if and when it
will hit you again.
