So, I just created a playlist with one item in it (?)

Aye. Daft, in my opine.

and asked it to
burn to CD. Except apparently it's got to burn it to CD's ...

(you mean "2 CD's ...", I guess?)

Hopefully (ie not more), just put the second one in (was testing my
new PC so got distracted, Pariah at 60 fps for once!) ;-)

Now I'd like to find a way of compressing it a bit (it's 970M (.aiff)
apparently) please?

The data size (ie compression level) of the original file doesn't
matter when you're burning an audio CD because whatever the source,
iTunes converts it into CD-native 44KHz/16bit which means 150KB/sec.

Ok ...

So if it's over 72 minutes long (standard CD size, though you can get
80min blanks too), you're scuppered - you'll need to slice it up
yourself in some sound app.

Well iTunes seems to be happy to do that so I'll leave it to it.

Or speed it up by 10%, or some such
similar thing.

lol. (Although I guess that could be possible depending on the
content)?

Hmm, so no matter what the bitrate of the orig it will always end up
150k/s so it's the time that matters here? 1h 20m of recording needs
1h 20m of audio CD. I guess I could make it fit a 80 min CD if it was
just a straight .mp3 / whatever?

Oh well, it will just have to be on two CD's then .. no big deal ..

Thanks again ..
