Dunno - I guess open source types consider themselves to be something
like modern day blacksmiths ?
I blame CodeWarrior myself - "blood, sweat and code" was the motto, and
the image was of a blacksmith forging something.

(Yes, I -know- I've left myself open to to "what was he forging,
tenners?"-type jokes. I trust you'll all rise above the obvious
temptation. Ah, who am I kidding).
Making something through trial and error; forging something, testing it,
forging again and again until it's right - I guess.
