Wouldn't trust it entirely if you just overwrote the current
c:\windows, that doesn't clear out the autorun registry keys and
services definitions and whatnot. If you blew the old install out and
then installed fresh, that's fine. Check your registry keys.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run (and
runonce), and the same over in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
Why don't those twats makes IE6 SP1 a complete download that's easy to
get? As bad as the idiots at Adobe with their stub downloads.

Excitingly I have 44 Critical updates to get. Actually not many Mb
compared to the average Apple out the box patching session.
I did a XPsp2 reinstall yesterday, about 160meg of patches after that
so pretty similar to the latest PPC combo but much slower. Fast
broadband is rather good.
