I've used Synchronize in the past and that did the job well enough.
Can't find this?

Comes in a 'Pro' version, too.
Ah. I'd ruled that out because I saw the Pro version and thought that a
hundie was a bit much to keep my USB key synced up (even if it was dollars
and not squids). Didn't realise there was a sensibly-priced version (or
that it was what you were referring to, ie "Synchronize" != "Synchronize! X
Pro").
One of its nice features is that if it finds two versions of a file on
each respective volume that have *both* been modified, it will offer to
move the older one to a 'Conflicts' folder so you're unlikely to ever
lose anything.
I've been playing with Chronosync (same price) but haven't got around to
playing with conflicts. The manual suggests that it's quite powerful (you
can elect to always ignore that given conflict in future syncs, for
example) but requires manual intervention each time a conflict is initially
discovered (although you can 'ignore all' which will do no syncing for
conflicting files on that sync).
Does Synchronize resolve aliases? I've discovered that Chronosync does,
which means I can keep my files scattered over the disk, but still sync
them to my card by dropping an alias into the folder I have set as the sync
folder. Which is nice.
