Like this?

and on the left side on top is a small rotating disc.

Black and white, or colour? That sounds like the cursor.

Does this iBook run OSX or OS9?

the harddisk makes a sound as it
works correctly. but this goes 20-30 minutes>

This could be a physical problem with the disk, it could just be problems
with the installation or disk formatting (which could be solved by tools
like DiskWarrior, or drastically by a wipe and reinstall).

If you don't know anyone with a Mac, it might be worth saying where you
are. If there's someone on this group local to you they might be willing to
do a favour in return for anything from a friendly thankyou, through a few
pints, to simple cold hard cash. Or there's the post; if you sent me a
drive for example, I would install OSX on it for you.

i am located in Berlin.

Probably a little far to travel, then; and postage would be prohibitive.

the next step is test this with ubuntu.

Sure, but if the hard disk and CD drive are defective, how will you install
it? If you can get Ubuntu on it then why not use the same methods to get
MacOS on it (unless, of course, your intention is to get Ubuntu on it).

but i have a question on it. can i use evry vendor of a harddisk and
every vendor of a cdrom drive or can i use only apple parts?

Any 9mm hard disk will do, so long as it's IDE or ATA or whatever the term
is. For CD ROM drives, it's more fussy - there's a web page somewhere that
explains which models work in Macs, but I don't know where any more.

Good luck!
