I have a large number of digital photos in JPEG format that I need to
reduce down to sub 50K file size for the purpose of sending by email

the standard set of Tiger apps. What is my best option for batch scaling
them down and resaving as medium quality JPEG?
I believe I may be able to achieve this using Automator and the Gimp
(given sufficient reading up) but wondered what anyone else does in the
situation and whether it might be easier. In fact, I'd be interested to
know just how many different techniques people have for this.
Graphic Converter. Or if you're feeling geekie, I use imagemagick from the
command line.
