as for my macbook,

tracking just updated and changed to UPS - I think I am getting closer :)

are you still loving it after a few hours play?

how much am I allowed to gush? :>

It's seriously amazing. I'm EXTREMELY pleased with it!

I guess my concerns when buying after reading all the webpages I could
find on mbp/mb were heat, buzzing noises, gfx overheating and
producing weird screen artifacts, random reboots etc.

I've had it plugged into the mains all day, this room is stupidly hot
at the moment. During its 8 hours on mains, it's installed lots of
stuff including parallels, XP from the cd, I've compiled up my cocoa
stuff, done some pretty strenuous compilation speed tests etc. I've
swapped with a key press between full screen win xp and macosx. I've
watched a dvd and generally downloaded/installed stuff. So it's
probably done more today than it would normally do.

After all that it's less hot than my powerbook ti 1.25ghz. Now perhaps
that's minimising the point that my ti pb is VERY hot ;-) but I've no
problem at all with the macbook heat. (touch wood that it doesnt now
overheat and die tomorrow or anything)

No gfx problems seen so far, no crashes, no buzzing noises or indeed
untoward noises of any kind. The fan occasionally started up, blew for
awhile then stopped. No "mooing" noticeable yet.

So in my admittedly limited experience, no nasties!

Pros, WOW it's fast! It boots from scratch faster than my windows
laptop comes out of sleep. Everything whizzes around the screen like
it's had several too many sugar laden fizzy drinks.

right click works wonderfully!

Of course, the fun bit for me was installing virtue for virtual
desktops then parallels with xp :) I'm smiling smugly as I type this
because it's superb!

Everything went just fine and pretty soon I had windows in a window.
Then I got windows running on its own virtual screen along with spiffy
gfx effect swapping back and forth. It swaps instantly and is truly
amazing to see and use. I showed a friend who came over to look and he
too was amazed but after using for 5 mins said the mouse felt a bit
laggy. OK I said but come on, thats a small price compared to what
virtualisation stuff used to be like ;-) then we noticed the
VM-install tools menu item which seems to install better drivers into
the guest OS! All of a sudden, mouse movement was as smooth as windows
on a normal pc (staples lips to avoid making cynical comment about
that not really being a gold standard to live upto ;-).... TOTALLY
amazing! I used office and a load of apps and well just WOW thats all,
WOW!

I can't praise the right click capability enough! It works great!
without that I'd be far less amazed... I'm not a fan of all this
"press a key then click" stuff.

I'll stop, I've gushed enough. You're in for a treat when it arrives
:)
