If I ever again get used to my home dial-up (31 KB/sec, on a good

it'll be a bleedin' miracle.

I assume you mean 3.1 KB/sec? I am currently between homes, so forced to
make do with a modem intarweb, and omigod it is barbaric. On a good day,
following wind, pack of etceteras, like right now I have 37,333 bits per
second which seems to translate in realworld downloads of about 150 KB a
minute, ish.

when i was on dial up i used to use a rule of thum that it would take a
about a hour to get 10mb down.

i used to use dial up on my airport router which attaully worked very
well.
