out cheaper than many others at similar price point [1], next day onsite
warranty [2]. Supports AppleTalk (EtherTalk), IP etc, neither of ours do
bonjour printing but that isn't a biggy. Running 10.2-10.4 here. You
will probably want to find the setting that makes it ignore the US
letter page setting of jobs though, send it US Letter and it will just
say can't print, change a setting and it will ignore the US letter and
just print it on A4.
I do like the Brother printers too, got a HL6050DN and 5170DN around the
office, long term the fuser units aren't so reliable (100k) and cost a
bit, so we scrap and buy new, but we get our monies worth out of them.
It is just because of that long term reliability we are experimenting
with the OKI, we've got the OKI9300 colour which we hammer and it keeps
on going.....
[1] I think I worked out at our duty loads it would pay for the
difference between itself and the cheaper Brother printer within
18months, which bearing in mind it was about £100 more...
[2] Tested unfortunately, but he diagnosed on the phone the afternoon
before, came with the right part next morning and back up and running
for lunch.
