Every time I make a new file in bbedit, it goes to full window size,

I am pretty sure it didn't do that when it was 6, but since it has been
8 it does.
Anyone know how to get it to open something sensible like 900x700?
Preferences -> Windows -> Maximum Width ? I have mine set to "13-inch
Display".
Thanks that works. That seems like a bit of an odd way of doing it. Does
mean you cant actually zoom the document bigger and have to drag it out,
but that is a small price to pay. Shame there is nothing to stop it
being the whole height.
I am sure it used to be better than that in 5-6.
Yes, I guess it is a bit non-standard now that you mention it, but it works well enough for me on a PowerBook.
