Re: Can you supress the Norton AV 10 liveupdate "i've finished" UI ??

When liveupdate (Norton AV 10) runs the liveupdate app is opened (visually) and then when it completes a confirmatory dialogue is popped up on the screen to show you that everything is at the latest version. Does anyone know of a way to force this into a "silent" background operation? The icon bouncing away in the dock at the end of the liveupdate process requires me to swap focus onto the app then quit it, which over an extended period of time, is starting to annoy me.

Probably the most holistic solution would be to just uninistall Norton, since it's not doing anything useful.

Agreed that normally it's not doing much on the Mac side but AV on Mac isn't always about the risk of personal infection. I'm doing a lot of work these days with folks in parts of the world where AV software hasn't quite caught on and so I get a moderate number of docs each day with Word/Excel Macro viruses in them. As I have to ultimately re-distribute many of these docs to Windows using colleagues it's considered good form (and it saves lots of "oh.. you've got a virus" earache and glee from colleagues) if I use Norton to cleanse the docs first.
