Yes, I'd like to know the answer to this one too (or, rather, a client of
mine has just asked this same question)!
For items that are dragged into a mail.app window, if they display as
a picture then Control-Click on them and choose "View as icon".
Ian
Thank you.
Thinking about your answer and my question..... the issue is purely
local isn't it - how the attachment is displayed in my client. The
attachemnt is always *sent* the same way, yes?
Basically yes, but the MIME part has a header called "Content-disposition"
which hints to the recipient that the thing should be in-line, or a file
(with a name) and so on.
Thanks Chris
so, in Mail.app, when you set an attachment to "display as icon", does
that set "Content-disposition" accordingly, or does itt just affect the
local display?
Good question. I just tried sending two messages one with the image set in
the compose window to view as icon, and one not, and it made not a scrap of
difference :-(
Both images had content-dispositions set to "inline".
Cheers,
Chris
