I sympathise.
I have been struggling this week to get a clients very simple (2
machines) Windows XP network to work.
Both machines happily talk to the wireless router and access the
internet. But they don't see each other.
I've given up for week as he's gone on holiday.

Another client in London with 2 x W2K machines on a similar but wired
network that has been happily functioning for 3 years now. This week
they stopped seeing one another. I have no idea why and the client is
computer illiterate although he likes to think he isn't.
Which is quite likely at the route of the problem.

Like you, I've had it Windows, and it's users.
