Pages export is pants. Even, somehow, its PDF export. Export as RTF, then load into TextEdit and save as Word (this works quite well in Tiger).
You're right. Out of curiosity, I re-opened the .doc in Pages, this being a .doc which Pages had created. It got the layout wrong again.
The RTF trick messed up all the tables when viewing in TextEdit - plius I can't see an option to save as Word? Just RTF or Web Archive (using 10.4.4).
