There are definitely sticklers here - in my opinion, at times a little
harsh(!) on new posters who use google groups and top-post, and don't
quote, etc etc.
However, what this also means is that this group is regularly and very
attentively read by a lot of people. In practical terms, if someone is
reading all the messages that come in, to suddenly see a 'blind' post
with just a response in it can throw you off.
When reading other newsgroups, I've noticed that many of them are not so
strict, but they are also more chaotic. I still top-post in email
though, at times anyway. :-)
The google site is good for doing searches, but in the end a dedicated
newsreader puts you far more in control.
