The format was simple. IIRC, Amos and Andy were good friends who
got into one daft scrape after another, thanks to a thoughtlessly
carefree approach to life. Somewhat like Laurel and Hardy except
these were stereotypical stage blacks, playing to a patronisingly
racist gallery and I hope getting a hefty wage for it. As actors
they had real comic talent but I have no idea where their careers
took them. AFAIR, I saw them on BBC-tv in the late 1950s. HTH.
